ANL fuse verses AMG

Can someone explain the difference? I just ordered an Blue Sea ANL fuse holder to replace the AMG holder I was sold by West Marine for my house bank. I think it has something to do with the time delay but I can't find any info when I Google search. When is it appropriate to use AMG type fuses?

The quick version:
ANLs have a larger amperage range.
ANLs are ignition protected
AMGs are physically smaller, and may be more appropriate depending on current rating and ignition needs.

ANL fuses have a higher AIC rating - 6000 amps. AMG fuses only have a 2000 amp AIC rating. That is the largest difference. It relates to battery bank size and the unique ability of a fuse with a low AIC rating to keep the circuit closed after blowing - in effect welding shut. Not what you want.
