Hi everyone, I could use some help. Boat is in Mexico... don't have access to it. I want to add a removable "handrail" on the transom so when I am backed into the slip and guests walk on to the boat, I can keep a few of them from falling in the water-yes, it really happens and it's dangerous (I put a rubber duckie sticker (1" sq) on the transom when someone falls in). So what I want to do is use one of these on the lower part of the transom, then make a rail that will fit into it easily, then connect to the stern rail, and easily removed. I can get these in 30, 45, 60, 90 degree angles. Just something to help a few unsteady folks.

Can somebody please measure the angle of the transom just to the port of the ladder? I'm guessing 45, but I would like to be sure.

One, but more are coming if I don't do this. It was actually a pretty dangerous situation. She was pretty drunk, stopped halfway due to indecision and fell in. I had to go in after here because she was disoriented and going (swimming) under the dock. Late night, too many Mexican margaritas. So while it's funny and all that, I'm sure I'm not the first guy to see the need for this.

One guy I was talking to said in their club back home when someone did that they had to fly a rubber ducky flag for a couple days.

Has anyone else done something like this?

I always thought that boat (and the 37.5)should have had a truncated transom at the stern platform to make the 'step across' from a dock or dinghy more easily negotiated. We did have a potential purchase in hand (eventually fell through) and I had seriously contemplated doing that modification.

You should be able to approximate the angle with a good profile shot or line drawing and a protractor...

Not really, just a handhold from the stern rail to the aftmost part. Why, did you have something special in mind?

I don't think it would fit the bill but what came to mind was one of those shower handholds with the heavy duty suction cups
