Hi, I have an '86 H31. I'm going to install a swim platform, and I'm having the brackets custom made. My boat is 5 hours away, and my dilema is now that I'm not sure about the angle of incline on the transom. I have to be sure before I order the custom-made brackets. Does anybody know what this angle is? I believe it's 60 or 65 degrees, but I'd like to be accurate. Thanks! Michael

Who's Making the Swim Platform?

This is something I've thought about for my H31 and I'm curious as to what you're doing. I'm sorry I don't know the angle measurement though.

Absolutely, I'm pretty sure they're the same. That would be great, thanks!

I looked at doing a custom one, but it was too expensive. I ended up buying a 72" x 22" team one from BoatUS, made in Thailand. I'm cutting the rear to fit the camber of the hull, and having custom brackets made. I'll end up spending around $800, unless I have to do additional stainless steel tubing for extra support from below.

I did something like this on my Hunter 27'

We moor our boat and my wife wanted a transsom step to get in and out from our hard tender. I wish I had a photo...the boat is in storage and covered. I went to a specialty lumber shop and bought some mahogany raw stock 1"x 8". I made the angle supports from these two 1 foot pieces. I then bought some mahogany decking and made the platform from those pieces. The overall dimensions are about 8" wide x 1.5 feet long. I cetoled it and it looks terrific! It is very functional as well.
