Andersen winch parts

I have two 40st Andersen winches.
On both the plastic ring is broken making the self tailing feature inop
Are these plastic pieces available and if so where
Andersen says there is a version stamp on the base plate .
Mine are of the early 80's and no such stamp on top
I'd rather not have to take base plate off to chk bottom of plate for stamp
Or has someone thought of a better way to solve the problem?

Can't think of any other way to determine your version number.........unless you still have paperwork from when they were new......... Since I'm sure you've already read the info on the opening page of the andersen website, it may be time to make a phone call to their customer service department... before you pull the plate.... are you sure the numbers are on the plate.... perhaps they're somewhere else.
