I've finally finished sanding the deck after pulling the canvas and the varnish removal is 98% done.

The decks were ok except that one chainplate area.

The foredeck is good...

and aft is better than I thought it would be.

Now it's time to sand and seal the bright work, finish stripping the hull, pull the sticks and the engine. I'm gonna seal the deck too before applying the Sanitred.

wow, nice pics, good work prepping the deck. Gives me inspiration to continue on the "free boat". I bet it helps looking over your bow at the beauty in front of you. How do you keep the sanding dust off his boat? Keep up the good work! Looks like it will be worth it big time when completed. Keep us updated. Can't wait to see how it looks finished. What are you sealing the deck with? epoxy?

The sander you see aft has a shop vac connector, required in this yard. No free dust at all. Much nicer, if a bit slower, than the old way. I'm sealing with Smith's CPES and then coating the deck with Sanitred.

Yep, it'll be worth it. I have a picture of her after her last refit, although it wasn't as thorough as the one I'm doing.

No, just two coats of varnish per year over the top after some scuffing with scotchbrite. You need to completely strip the brightwork about every 10-15 years depending on how you maintain it.

Thanks.
