Anchoring

I recently purchased an od 25. Each of my previous boats have had a bowsprit and I could keep my anchor at the ready. I like to use a claw or a Delta and they will not fit in the anchor locker. Any advice or ideas would be appreciated. It does not look like there is enough room to add a roller off the bow.

Bow pulpit

Tom,mine hangs upsidedown from the bow pulpit. I've had it since August and have never used it so I can't tell you how it works. I'm attaching a photo but its not real close on the anchor. If I can I'll try a closer shot soon. Good luck, Mike

Bow Anchor Roller

The previous owner of my 1976 O'Day 25 installed a bow roller assembly for the anchor. Works just fine! It is installed tight to the starboard side of the stem plate, but allows enough room to get to sail and forestay attachment rigging. If you would like, I can try to take a digital picture of my setup.

Slight modification

Tom, If you cut a small portion off of one of the toe rails, you can fit a bow roller on. You will need to fill the one hole that connects the rail to the deck. I was going to do this but decided that the cost of the bow roller would make it a future project. r.w.landau

Thanks for the help. I would appreciate any photos of anchor rollers. I have seen bow holders for Danforth-type anchors before, but like to use a Bruce (claw), or a Delta.

I hang mine as well.

I looked at bow rollers in the early days and then that project got shelved. Mine's been hanging 15 years and have never reconsidered a roller. Tor
