Has anyone tried a polite aproach?

Sometimes people do things out of ignorance and not because they are trying to be a *****. I think always asking politely.... "boy do you think you might be a little too close" may be a better aproach than behaving like the person you are assuming they are. Its always worked for me. abe

An anchor marker is the way to go

It really gives everyone else an idea of your swing potential. Hey Jim did you take any photos of your shower on the stern. That might be a first for this forum :)

Franklin your idea is fine..but

It doesn't really matter if a weight is pulling down or a float is pulling up as a way to keep tension on the line. The but is that I want a strong line to aid in anchor retrieval. The second line is attached to the front of the anchor where there is an eye. The strong line has saved me from diving down or worse losing my anchor several times. Actually the reason that I attached a float was for this retrieval line. If you are retrieving using the rode you are always pulling the "hook" forward but a line attached to the eye pulls with the "hook" pointing to the rear. The times that I've dove to retrieve an anchor the anchor was stuck on a log or rocks or old anchor chain so that it always hooked something. So far I've never had a problem with someone anchoring too close. Almost everyone that I've met on the water have been nice people. Once a boat was a little too close and played music a little too loud. I sulked for a little while and then realised that I like the music and went to sleep listening to their stereo. they waved and were friendly and apparently didn't realise that we'd have preferred them farther away. Hey Jim

Is that Canoe Neck off of St. Clement's Bay? I was in there Sunday but stayed at the dock in front of the Morris Point restaurant, so it wasn't me! I have an old boombox on my boat - if I was in your shoes I'd pick some God-awful music and crank it up! That should take care of the problem....
