I reciently purchased a Hunter 28.5. I noticed that there are no chocks to guide the anchor rode through when the anchor is deployed. I can not imagine having the rode just swing back and forth along the toe rail between the rails. Has anyone put in chocks or just anchor the way it is?

There should be wheels

The wheels should be made out of polyurethene or such, and attach through the big pin at the prow. Any boat or auto parts store should have comparable wheels for trailers.

cut the toe rail

I also have an 85 28.5 that I have had since 1990. That is the first issue I dealt with. It also assists with the life of my dock lines. I chose to cut the toe rail flush with the deck. I cut at an angle about six to eight inches in length matching the cleat. Ground the edge down to match the deck and it has worked just fine for me. Good luck with what ever you choose.
