20# Hi Tensile Danforth, 25# CQR
Depends on bottom type. I carry both on my double bow rollers - the Danforth flukes are hung vertically, with the stock on the bow roller. The pin in the bow roller assembly fits the molded hole on top of the CQR perfectly. Snap shackles from the inside bow hook in the anchor locker to the chain help keep them secure. I also tie the chain(s) with nylon rode at the cleat. I have about 20 ft of 5/16 chain on both. Normal nylon rode length (1/2") is 150 ft, but I keep 300 ft additional stored in a lazarette. I used the 13# Danforth type that came with the boat for a couple years, but feel a lot safer with the 20# hi tensile Danforth.
