Gene, I hope to have some pictures of Lyrica ground tackle sometime in the near future. I think you'll like the setup. We have separate compartments for the chain and the line. Surprisingly small locker for the chain considering it held over 200 feet of
1/4" High-Test. We never used more than 70 and have since reduced it to 110 feet. As far as doing a watertight locker you could have a problem. Double braid and 3 strand have a way of knotting itself and you might not be able to get to the knot to untangle
it. Single braid is less likely but still possible. Chain doesn't tangle but can stack on itself and be difficult to pull out. Water coming on board will drain under the cabin sole and into the bilge where it can be pumped out. There are ways to minimize
ingress. Also, that partition is structural. Think of it as the forward most frame. WaltFrom:

Subject: [AlbinVega] Re: Anchor windlass
I am keenly interested in this.
Windlass or no, I plan to remove the wooden partition in the forepeak, and create a large, water tight chain locker with a through-hull drain on the side, and a partition in the middle to accommodate two rodes without fouling. I plan to install two anchor rollers
on the bow.
The windlass is my only question mark. Everything is a compromise, they say! I can easily imagine how nice it would be nice to have one, so I guess it's the downsides I'd like to hear about.
