I am planning to change the manual anchor for electrical one I am not familiar with the Catalina Boat as I have boughted since 1 month. Any good friend that can tell me which model and power recomended. Specting to install chain 8mm. and 30 lbs. (?)
I had good success with a Simpson Lawrence (bought by Lewmar) Sprint 900 (newer model the 1000) on my Catalina 36. The Sprint series is relatively low cost and low profile. Lewmar has a good section on their web site on how to choose a windlass (see related link). I would guess the 600 would be adequate for your 28. Hope this helps, Trevor
