Hunter 290 Help. My age and back demand a windlass! Anyone install one on a Hunter 290? Which one, how? Lots of reinforcement?

I did try on my 290 many years ago but can't remember why I gave up
after cutting the hole in the anchor locker platform.
Maybe look into a top on deck windlass with hole for the chain to drop into,sorry I can't help more but I think the one I was using did not fit.
My wife let me sell that boat and buy my H-36 with a windlass built in by
the factory,that and lots of other options and bigger.

See if 306 have a windlass and what model they used ,they are same boat or buy a 356 same as my 36.:dance:

Two years ago installed Quick Rider 1000 - R1012D 1000W 12V 5/16" Gyspy & Drum on my 306 in Anchor Locker. A bit work but works well.
Just a small stainless plate under the mount in the anchor locker. Carry a 35 lb Manson Supreme.. Need to rebuild my anchor rollor due to size of the Manson but the Windlass works great!
