Anchor Well

I have a 1999 Hunter 380, and have a question. Does anyone have any idea how much weight the anchor well can handle? I am having a windlass installed and purchased some chain and line that fits the windlass. I wasn't planning on all chain, but the company I bought the chain from sent me twice as much as I ordered....150 ft. I think it will fit, but that's a lot of weight. Do you think there will be an issue?

I had a Hunter 386 with a windless and 50 ft of chain but lots of forum members carry significantly more chain that that, even on smaller Hunter sailboats without an issue. The 380 is a stout boat, which can easily carry 150 lb of chain...........albeit maybe you will not. Consider the extra weight is like a crew member standing just behind the bow. I cannot recall the chain diameter but if you know the chain diamter you can look upo the weight in the table below. You might find the tread below helpful.

5/16” x 200’ on a Hunter 33’. No problems.
