Now that my mast is up, my engine running well, I am getting adventurous
At the yard I regularly vist, I found a nice Bruce Anchor (or is it a plow?) and a nice anchor support, with a roller at the end
The boat I scavenge from, also a H33, 1982, it had an anchor support, but they cut off a piece of the toe rail, and also one side of the hook looking metal, the one that has a hook on each side, whatever you call it, so it was lying skew to one side. But it was not aestethically pleasing to the eye
However, in the same marina my boat is, I see a boat with a wooden platform protruding at the front of the bow pulpit, so I got thinking that maybe I can do the same; the problem is I would have to mount the 2 chocks and the long cleat on top of the platform.
Here is my question: has anyone done that, or has anyone seen one?
Could I mount the cleat and the chocks on top of the platform, by using longer bolts? Is it safe?It would then jut out to a point, and I would not have to cut off anything.
In my mind it would look great, and I can have the anchor attached to the end of it.
I am sure the usual helpers will come forward
Thanks
Jorge
