I've just recently bought a HR49 (No 45) and noticed it seems to be "sailing" quit a bit at anchor (singe bow anchor). Anyone having experience on how to reduce, e.g. rigging a anchor sail?ThanksPeter
Peter,Last year I bought an anchor sail of 3,6 m2 from UK Syversen for my 352 and the result is good. I hoist it by the spare halyard and the sail is fixed at the aft stay with hooks like old head sails. In the front direction it is fixed by a "sheet" to the halyard winch on the mast. Dont forget to furl the head sail completely when anchoring. But anyway it still sails somewhat at anchor but not more than acceptable and most of all much better than before.
