Anchor Roller question

Am in the process of upgrading the ground tackle on my boat. Am concerned that the anchor rollers aren't large enough to handle a large CQR. (I believe in oversize anchors. As someone said, the most expensive anchor is cheaper than a repair bill) What size anchors do people use? Has anyone replaced the anchor rollers? Debra

Same problem.

Have a "new" CQR 35# for my "old" H37C. I have seen every imaginable modification of the H37C bow roller. I still haven't done aything because I saw the same anchor on an UNmodified H37C. In the next two weeks I will try to put mine up there. The only mod that I am considering is the one where just the outside plate, either one or both is cut off. Then a larger, single roller is bolted on, both to the remaining plate(s) and thru the hull. This requires no modification of the forestay mounting. If you would like to see two very nice modifications check Rainbow Chaser at: http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/Cabana/7414/index.html And Adventure at: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=204587#a=1505977 (replace the '#' sign with a real ampersand, a character that will not displace here on HOW). And remember to check the Cherubini forum. Good luck. Ed(H37skipper@aol.com) s/v Ladylove
