Anchor Roller for 28.5?

I have an '88 28.5. Great boat, sails like a dream and stands up to the weather very well...but then you other 28.5 owners would know that!My question stems from the fact that there is no anchor roller on the bow. And, with the way the anchor locker closes, there is very little (none, really) room between the forward end of the anchor locker and the very bow in which to set a "regular" anchor roller. So, what should I guy do? We have a "bridle" I made from some 1" line that I run the anchor line through then thie off to a cleat, but it IS a hassle deploying it and I goota believe there's a better way.So, any thoughts/ideas?

Rick, I have an 88 Hunter 30 with the furling drum below the deck. I installed a small Windline roller at an angle such that the rear of the anchor stock ends where the line opening is in the deck (fwd of the anchor hatch). I am using a 20 lb CQR plow and had to replace the large built in shackle that came with the anchor with a smaller D type shackle. This allows the anchor to clear the bail on the end of the roller. This arrangement has worked out very well, and I am sure that the roller would work with other type of anchors. I do not know how the 28.5 is set up but if the distances are anything similar to the 30 then this could be made to work.

Go to any store to find a polyurethene roller for a trailer that will double as a bow roller. Sturdy for sure, looks great. Yankee ingenuity wins the war.
