I have a 1989 Beneteau First 32S5. The original anchor roller on this boat only extends a couple of inches off the bow. Not great for storing an anchor out there.
Anyone have conversions done or ideas to extend it to hold a delta anchor out there? I thought about putting an anchor roller in the existing channel but none of the retailers have accurate measurements on their anchor rollers. I called west marine about a Lewmar product with a 2.5" width that would've fit but turned out to be 3" plus.

Hi Gino!
we're pretty new 32s5 owner (2nd season and very happy so far), also new to this forum and to "sailing english".

Not sure if that replies your question or it may be very overkill; but we have a bowsprit on our boat which allow storage for anchor. A pretty popular solution in our waters up here where 2 extra feet can make the difference between reaching land or not.
And additionally it provides a great point of attach for the gennaker.

cheers

I removed the old anchor roller and brought it to Stainless Outfitters in Barie Ontario Canada. They did an awesome job making a replica with an extended roller for the larger anchor. Aln excellent piece for only $900.
