Anchor Roller and Nav Lights

I have an Oday 25 and have no anchor roller. I want to add one, right now I am looking at buying this one: http://shop.odayowners.com/prod.php?3132/SS Light Duty Small Anchor Roller/Mount I live in a very non-marine area so going to look at things at a store does not exist. So I am not sure this is a best choice? I do use Danforth anchors.

So my other problem is when I add this I will have to lose my nav light. So I am asking where should I mount, and what type of nav light should I go with? I am a bit confused and unsure about mounting them on the hull sides. Do side mount nav lights have to mount parallel to center line of boat to point proper? Since every boat has a different angle to the bow it seems you need the right angle on the light to show at the proper angles that are viewed by other. Does that make any sense?

I was thinking a pulpit mount red/green light But just seem it would be to prone to damage. Is there one that could mount at forestay chain plate? And wow how to run wires water tight?

Well just looking for what others have done, pics be appreciated. Greg

I am working on the same problem so I will be watching the responses you might get.

I plan to use a little heavier roller unit than that one, that one looks pretty light and only rated to 15 lbs isn't it?

I plan to fabricate a bracket and just move my existing nav. light fixture to the pulpit running the wires up through the pulpit tubes. No matter what you are going to have to have a small hole for cable through the deck but a small hole is easily sealed with some goop of your choice or there are various "professional" methods for water tight cable pass through. Google. $$$

Maybe Small.

Yes not sure, might have to "weigh" the anchor to see how much it weighs. And not sure if the weight they give is for the anchor or the tackle too. Have 20' of 5/16th chain so for sure over 13 lbs. Greg

anchor roller

I have been giving some thought to an anchor roller, and am considering a small bow plank with the roller built in, could also mount the running lights on it and bring it back onto the deck far enough to allow a hawse pipe fitting to feed the line and chain into. Haven't gotten serious about it yet, but when I do, I'll post results and photos..

Greg,
Rudy at D&R has the Red/Green Bow light, which I have mounted on my pulpit. It sits back just far enough to be protected by the rail. The plate it is mounted on is tack welded I believe.
The PO must have been worried about damage because I found two new ones in one of the compartments.
I also have deck mounted bow lights.
