Anchor rode size H33

I just acquired a 35 lbs Manson Supreme anchor for my H33C.
I'm debating what size of rode I should get.
I sail in Lake Ontario.
My Danforth will be my backup.

Chain and Nylon combination is what I'm looking for.
25-30 ft 1/4 or 5/16 galvanized with 200 ft of 1/2" or 9/16 3 strand.
What do you have?

are you going to use a windlass? If you plan on purchasing one in the future you may want to check what the mfg recommends. Not all windlasses will accept different combinations of chain/rode sizes.

I have 50' 5/16" chain and 250' 5/8" 3 strand spliced to the chain, 15 kg. Rocna. 10,400 lbs displ.

Sorry, forgot to add... do you really need an anchor in Lake Ontario???? ;)

30 feet of 1/4 chain and 200 feet of 1/2" 3 strand nylon rode on a Hunter 30. Without a windlass, that 30 feet of chain plus anchor is an awful lot to bring up but the security is worth it.
