Anchor placement on 280?

Our Fluke will not fit through the rails of the pulpit. I also use the roller for the tack line for our flasher. So keeping the anchor there is intrusive. And I would rather keep the anchor in the anchor well. But I would also like pulling in the anchor over the roller. How do other 280s handle this?

Anchor Placement Response

I had a similar problem on my 28. After I haul the anchor up I pull the anchor around the starboard stantion of the bow pulpit and under the furling line. Then I put the anchor back in the well. Part of the anchor line remains looped around the stantion.

Same here

On my old H28, I had the same setup as Lewis, kinda a pain to deploy the anchor, but not too bad. Regards. Bruce. Neon Moon

Easy solution maybe

On my 280 I kept the anchor in the anchor locker. However, I retrieved the anchor over the top of the bow pulpit. That way launching was easy because it was not necessary to get the flukes through the bow pulpit. The only very modest downside is that you will have a loop of the anchor line running from the bow roller over the top of the pulpit and then to the anchor locker. If this provides no aesthetics issue it will work fine. It is certainly safe and allows easy deployment of the anchor.
