I'm looking for suggestions for how to mount an anchor on the bow of the H26. I am currently using a Guardian(Danforth type anchor). Danforth type anchors fit nicely in the anchor locker but don't work for beans if the sea or lake bottom is grassy. In mud or sand they're great. I'd like to switch to some type of plow or claw anchor, but they won't stow in the locker, so a bow roller is needed. The link below leads to an example in the photo forum. Ron: You are exactly correct. The danforth type anchors are worthless in grass. The BEST anchor for this type of anchoring is one with a SINGLE point like the CQR or Delta. If you contact Garhauer, they have some resonably priced rollers. Everyone else thinks that they are GOLD plated. They should be able to fix you up. They also do some custom stuff if required.

George, glad you chimed in. It's your project that I have a link to in my message. Can you provide me with any detail on the stainless piece you had fabricated? Land2C in Seattle makes a generic bow roller for around $300. I mounted one on my 270. There are 4 legs that adjust to length. When lengths are determined, you pop rivet them. On the 270 because of clearance issues with my CDI roller furling, I only used 3 legs. One leg was clamped to the U shaped mast holder, the other 2 were through bolted on the lip around the gunwhale. It works nicely and keeps the Bruce way out from the boat.
