Hi All,
New guy here! Anchor locker is full and tried clearing drain in locker to no avail. Is it possible to unblock/access/troubleshoot drain while boat is still in water? Thanks

The drain plug is bottom center, below sediment. Behind the deck plate is access wiring to Nav light and the bilge (not sure, but open area).

To clear the blockage without damaging the drain hose, use water hose and push water in from outside drain. The blockage will move inside then drain will start to work. It will block again, repeat until all the debris had cleared. Wash inside with pressure water hose. Wash the chain and the storage each time you return from anchoring.

I didn’t leave my anchor at all last summer. On my Catalina 36, birds had built a nest in this locker, bringing in lots of mud. The easiest way was to completeLy empty locker, and from the outside, poke in a wire. After allowing locker contents and cleaned locker to dry out, I stuffed a rag over the anchor chain entering the locker, thus preventing small birds from building a nest in there.

Might be useful to use a wet shop vac. Trying to get all that debris out that little vent will take a while. It's all organic so you can empty the vac canister overboard which will speed up the process.
Clean vent = drainage.

Got it to flow/drain using a plunger. I'll clean out the locker and snake the drain shortly. Appreciate all the input! TY
