I have recently discovered a leak in the anchor locker of our 1999 Hunter 340. In previous seasons we would find the occassional drip on the sole of the v-berth following significant storms. All our investigations proved fruitless until this week with the Nor'Easter. I was easily able to locate where the water now "flows". It is entering the v-berth from the inferior aspect of the anchor locker just fore of the windlass. The water is dripping where the plywood support contacts the inferior section of the fibreglass locker. This is not the deepest section of the locker where the chain and rode are stowed, so it is fairly accessable. I have yet to identify where the water is penetrating from the exterior. I would graciously accept any and all advice. Kind Regards

Check the latch.....

on the lid to the anchor locker where it slides into the hull. Hunter has a habit of drilling that hole completely through the hull instead of only part way into the fiberglass. The result is that water seeps along the closed latch and into the V berth area. One other area to look is at the base of one of the forward stanchions. One of the stanchions is where the wires for the forward running lights are lead through into the interior of the boat. Faulty sealing will let water into the V Berth area as well. Good luck.......Jeff

On my 1988...

...the inside of the locker is comprised of a "pan" that fits into the locker to form the well and then glassed over. I was getting a leak into the v-berth when I noticed that the seam of the pan was slightly separating and allowed the draining water (rain, sea spray, etc.)to seep in. When it was dry, I used silicone to seal the seam and the leak stopped. :)
