We have recently purchased a 1981 Hunter 22 and have found that it leaks from the anchor locker into the v-berth. The previous owners used a couple of tubes of silicone but this did not completely stopped the leaks. We have removed the old silicone and are not sure what to go back with. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to stop the flow?

I'm not sure about the 22, but on the 23.5 there is a hose that drains the anchor locker to a through hull on the side. If yours is similar maybe the hose is broken or missing. Good Luck

Remove all the old calk if possible and replace with a high grade silicone sealant. After this cures about 5 days, take the garden hose to all points of the locker (full blast) and have someone inside tell when it starts leaking, if it does. If your boat is out of the water now is a good time to check all those other nasty leaks as well, rudder pintles, ports, stantions, thru hulls, fwd hatch (thats where mines leaking) and the ever popular drop keel bolts.
