How does your anchor locker, latch bolt, side into the upper molding. Had a leak recently that I traced to the bolt hole that the latch uses to secure the anchor locker. There is a SS retainer over the hole but the hole actually penatrates into the interior foam, consequently the water was migrating in the v berth. We filled the hole with caulking and will be cutting short the bolt-throw of the hatch latch to prevent furhter penatration? Strange design.. Any others have a similar deal?

No, but

It goes to show just how many places water can enter a boat. An acquaintance of mine states every 4 or 5 years he removes all the deck hardware and components; and re-sets them. A lot of work, but probably the only way to ensure that every water entry is accounted for.

Holes in deck

Thanks for the info. I will be checking ours. Any other interesting information appreciated. Noticed a later article about backing. Hope the later model 26 have backing plates??

Bill we have a 95 H26 with the same anchor

lock as yours. I found a leak in the locker that had been caused my a miss guided anchor throw or by droppin the anchor into the locker. I successfully sealed that hole with 5200 by forcing it into the hole with a putty knife. Could you push a good ammount of some good sealer into the the depths of that pin hole with a pencil or other tool the size of the latch pin and covered with "saran wrap". Leave the plug wad intill it dries and then remove the pencil. Re-bed the pin cover plate at the same time.
