Several people have commented on the small size of the anchor locker on the Hunter 37 Cutter. Does anyone have experience adding a windlass and adding additional storage capacity to the locker or using the space in the bow under the locker? Thanks for sharing what has worked, and what hasn't

Also see Carl's. . . . .

photos of his H37C. He enlarged the locker and added a very nice bowsprit. The pictures are at: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=204587#a=1505977 But the '#' must be replaced with a real ampersand. An ampersand will not display here, witness this '&'.

Anchor Locker

We used the space in the forepeak under the front of the V-berth. It easily stores 300 feet of rope and 50 feet of chain. Access was obtained by glassing in a 4 inch PVC hawsepipe from the front of the existing achor locker. The only problem is that the rope tends to buch up when bringing in the anchor and needs a little manual stowing help. The Anchor we now use is a 35 pound CQR permanently mounted in the anchor chocks. We kept the orginal anchor and rode in the existing well and use it as a lunch hook / second anchor. Let me know if you come up with anything creative as far a windless or anchor pulpit.
