I need to buy 2 150 foot (2 anchors) sections of braided nylon anchor line with the thimble already attached. I can't seem to find this combination anywhere. Any suggestions?

Not here on HOW.

Thought Sailnet(see link) might have it but only see 3-strand. But I am sure they would make them up if you are reluctant to do your own splicing(http://www.neropes.com/splice/default.htm). Sailnet has a complete rigging shop. Call them and then let us know.

3-strand is better

I read many articles from various sources that indicate 3-strand is better for anchor lines because it resists the wear and tear of an anchor line better.

I bought mine at BoatUS. Not braided though, 3 strand. (Anchor line is usually 3 strand because this is what a windlass can handle.) One thing to note on Westmarine and BoatUS, not everything in their catalogs is on their web sites. Call.

3-strand doesn't resist wear better,

It stretches more, and the stretch acts as a shock absorber. Anchor line that has little or no stretch can pull out a cleat if conditions are rough enough.

WM stocks anchor lines with thimbles in popular lengths. They used to carry a New England Ropes item that was even color coded by length - very handy!

WM, BoatUS, Sailnet, Defender all carry rodes with

If you really want braided line, Samson cordage makes their superstrong series which I've used. Practical Sailor rated New England Ropes 3 strand nylon line far superior in abrasion resistance to any other line (3 strand or braided) out there.
