Hello, I just purchased my first sailboat, a 1988 standard rig. I've been chartering for a few years but now I'll be involved with maintenance and up keep and I have a lot to learn.
I need to replace the anchor light on my boat. The previous owner is helping me out on obtaining a bosun's chair but here's my question? Does anyone know the bulb size I need to get? Will a parts store know this number? I haven't purchased boat parts before and I don't know how exact I need to be. I only want to go up the mast once and I want to have the replacement part in hand ahead of time. Thanks

Well, I think you ought to be prepared to do two trips up. You might have the original anchor light, or the prior owner may have replaced the light itself, as I did mine. You have a newer model than my '74, so you may be lucky and have the original. Here's what Catalina Direct says you should have, but note they say to check the original as well. With a pair of binoculars, you might be able to get a good enough look at the fixture to get some confidence in what you think is up there.

Good luck!

Peter
