I would like to add an anchor holding sail to the 216 for our planned overnighter Thanksgiving weekend. I know that these are usually hung on the backstay, which the 216 does not have. Can I just hank one onto the topping lift and sheet it off to the stern cleats? If not, do you have another way I can rig one effectively? Bob

another option

On my 23.5 I just throw a 2.4 pound dnaforth type anchor off the sert quarter to reduce swinging to almost nothing. Even if the wind or tide shift in the night it has not been a problem in the protected places I anchor. In a more open anchorage with less protection I just put 2 anchors off the bow at about 45 to 90 degress apart and let the boat swing a little. Smaller boats swing more but it hasn't caused me anytrouble so far.
