The biggest anchor I can get to fit on the bow rollers is a Rocna 15 (33 lbs.). It is recommended to 7 tons. Our boat is 7.9 tons.... Any suggestions? What kind of anchors do you have on your 37 cutter?

Cheers,
Dana & Craig

I have a 25# cqr on the bow for a lunch hook and a 35# cqr for overnights. Ten feet of chain on the 25, and 20 feet of chain on the 35. Both have 1/2" rode.

I have used a 35 lb CQR for the past 5 years with fairly decent results but I just acquired a 45 lb. Mantus. Fortunately it fits my current bow roller but certainly dominates the bow of the boat. In my travels, it has been the anchor that has always caused concern so I am hoping the newer style anchor will help me sleep better. As for the CQR, I may keep it rigged as a backup or just keep the current Danforth backup. Good luck with your decision, but I figure my entire home is counting on this one piece of equipment.

I put a windline roller on my bow. Had a 45# CQR. Plowed in some soft mud. Went to a 25 kg Rocna, about 55 #. All chain rode, 3/4" rope snubber. I sleep soundly when at anchor.

The original roller is a bit of a problem. In 'Hunter Owner Modifications' under the 'Boat Info' tab are one or two posts of improving the roller. I just fashioned bigger side plates and then bolted in one large trailer roller. I keep a CQR 35 on there.

No, much thinner, probably 1/8". But 3/16" would have been better.
