I am buying heavier anchor and rode for saltwater cruising. I need 50' of chain. Should I get the galv. hot dip or not? I will only be in salt water for a few months/year. Thanks for any suggestions.

Inasmuch as it's the ONLY thing holding your precious
boat (like, when you're asleep) it would be wise to become more conversant with the types of chain available. The West marine Advisors explain it pretty well, and I'm sure there's lots of information on the Internet, ya think? You didn't mention is you have a windlass or not, or if you're planning to buy one, which will surely restrict your selection both in size and type of chain. Given your size boat, I'd doubt it, but ya never know!
