Alden 38' Challenger yawl Rockport Harbor
I didn't have my camera but spotted a different Challenger in Northeast Harbor Maine. I almost mistook it for another design but the hull is quite unique.

This Challenger built in 64(I didn't know they were built that late) was ordered without the aft raised cabintop. The original owner ordered it that way, he was not all that tall and the present owners(2nd I believe and bought the boat in the late 60's!) are not either so they like the arrangement and prefer the lines.

The other obvious change was in the ports. The two larger aft ports were not of the "double D" arrangement and of course the cabinsides are shorter in this area. It has two larger versions of the square with rounded corner orginal wood trimmed ports. An attractive boat if alittle unusual to my eye.
TARNA hails out of Hancock Maine.

I wonder if others were so built?
