Some better pictures sans the tarp will go a long way into figuring out what it may be.. and have you searched the boat for a HIN or is there one on the title/registration?

Cheers,
Brad

hard chines and crisp angles suggest a home built/kit built.. but I have no idea what it is..

Post on sailing anarchy. If it's a manufactured boat, someone there can identify it.

The title should tell you the make. When you say wooden interior do you mean you see wood everywhere or just on floor. Does it appear to have a rib structure.

Looks like it is an all wood boat, from the pics. I think it may be mahogany plywood; I used to own a smaller boat (Thistle) that was mahognay plywood, and when varnished it sort of looked like that.

Depends on how you want it to look. If it were me, I'd clean it thoroughly, if needed do some careful sanding, and possibly use some sort of wood cleaner (I know you can get teak cleaner, and probably some of the solid wood is teak, but I don't know about other types of wood). Then I'd varnish or Cetol it - not a water sealer. The exterior is what keeps the water out - that doesn't look too bad from your pics.

thanx for the reply..what is cetol ??..never heard tell of it...does it have a strong odour ?? and by "all wood" you mean it doesn't have a layer o fiberglass on the outside..??

Cetol is a varnish-like coating, a brand name. Some prefer it to varnish, others don't like the color. Both varnish and Cetol have some odor when wet (not too strong, in my opinion), and none to little when dry. Cetol isn't cheap (I think upwards of $40/quart), but I don't think quality varnish is either.

I meant it is not a fiberglass hull - that the hull material is wood. It may have a layer of glass on the outside of the hull.

thanx ..i noticed some scuffs on the outside and i think this boat was done with the wet systym ?? so i was told ...even if it were fiberglass this wet systym stuff would stick to it..what about slapping a layer of marine epoxy resin all over the floor for good measure.if i don't go with cetol ??...
