Re: He ask me about that.

I have SeaTow also, but have not tried to use them. I just looked at their website and have looked at their contract before. There is no provision for them charging by length, or any extra charges. They are supposed to provide the tow service without additional charge and also dock to dock (dock to dock scheduled at their convenience). I believe that if you contact SeaTow's home office directly, they will resolve this in favor of the member. The franchisee appears to be ripping you off and SeaTow won't like their franchise being damaged by franchisee's taking advantage of you. Also, consider going to small claims court. The deal is that if you pay for a membership and need towing, they will tow you...read your contract details to make sure you have done your part.

Yea, went through this when my cutless bearing went out. With TowBoat US, Unlimited will pay 50% of tow from slip to yard. Unlimited Gold will pay the whole charge. Ended up changing it myself in the water. I think the Gold is maybe $15 to $25 extra a year.

I'm surprised they didn't call it a salvage, and want 20% of your boat's value.

which happened to me, sitting on a mooring, on a friends boat, and I had unlimited towing. (bilge pump broken, and taking on water).

-Tow boats Us = pirates!

thankfully USCG towed us for free.
