Ameriseam or Bottomsiders?

Hey guys. My girlfriend wants to give me for christmas cockpit cushions. Any of you out there have any? On the store here at HOW they have both Ameriseam and Bottomsiders, they are a little expensive, but hey its not my money . Anybody have an idea of which one is better? Both of them cost nearly the same.ThanxCarlitosMartina

Warm weather = Ameriseam

IMHO, the Ameriseam cushions work a bit better in hot climates. They have a mesh fabric covering that makes them less sticky. On the con side, the mesh may not last quite as long the vinyl covering used by BottomSiders. Bottomsiders are also terrific cushions, but on really hot days may require a towel covering. BS's big advatnage is that they dry quickly if soaked. Ameriseams take longer to dry out.The good news is, you'll be very happy with either of them.

Bottomsiders

We have white Bottomsiders and because of the color, they never get hot. They are easy to clean and are very comfortable - they conform to one's...er..bottomside.

the bottom siders actually give you the best of of both worlds.We made some inexpensive terry cloth covers for our bottom siders (the dog always has dirty paws). If the weather is wet we just don't put the covers on.

Cockpit cushions

We bought a set of Bottomsiders the begining of the 2000 season and have been very satisfied with them. I would highly recommend them. We got the 5 cushion set for the H-33.5 with the walk thru transom. Glad we made that choice.Regards,Dick CareyS/V Puffin

Custom Sunbrella cushions

I've tried factory products but I've found that custom cushions made out of marine vinyl or Sunbrella custom fit to your boat are really awesome. You can get them made any way you want and in any color. Any marine canvas shop can do the job and the price isn't cheap but sometimes a lot less than from vendors. Check it out. You might be very pleased!
