Ameriseam 6 foot rail mount bimini

Dumb question, but how does the 6 foot rail mount bimini (the model sold in the SBO store for H26) fold down and stow it inside it's cover?

The jaw slides seem stuck firmly in place. I can't imagine that I'm supposed to remove any screws to lower it when not in use...

Little help?

Figured it out - allen screws inside the jaw clamps. Loosened those and it folds right up.

Man, those Ameriseam instructions qualify as some of the very worst I've ever read.

So you have to loosen Allen screws every time to fold back the Bimini? That doesn't sound like a great design.

Perhaps they do not need to be tightened fully but just enough to allow the clamps to slide somewhat freely with the bimini being held up by straps.

It has been a long time but if you want to fold back, why not move the boom way out to close the bimini up vs. taking the screws out..

We removed those and just hooked up some bimini straps to black plastic pieces. We love our Ameriseam bimini, and it folds right down and travels great.

So many would want to fold the bimini back and put the cover on. Great but just remember to loosen the mainsheet pushing the boom out of the way memtarily and then fold the bimini back . To remove it, there are Phillips head screws two of them to loosen and stow in the boat. As for traveling or trailering, highly suggest that you stow in the rear berth.
