It looks tippy. Basically you have the unused ballasted foil "hiking" for you. As soon as you depart from level the righting moment supplied by that foil begins to decrease. A conventional keel on the other hand provides no righting moment when the boat is level and maximum when the boat is at 90 degrees. COOL AF though

To me, I prefer the Hobie Tri-foiler concept, where the foil is automatically adjusted for ride height by a ski. The trick with that design is that the windward foil actually pulls downward if the wind is too strong. The boat stays level automatically. It is a much more stable design and is capable of pulling speeds similar to the super expensive cat foilers used in the last AC race and its just a cheap production boat, in a price anyone can afford.

Isn't this part of the fun? i think the idea is to have a boat that is performing extremely well, but to accomplish that you have to be on the very top of your game or you crash and burn. This is not for the faint in heart. This is an equivalent of F1 in sailing. 900+ HP from 1.6 l engine. 25 kt. in 10 kt. wind. G-forces that throw you off the boat at tack if you are not paying attention. This is beyond leading edge. And it is supposed to be that way.

"Self righting after capsize" I would like to see that engineering in action. Should be interesting. These boats should be safer than the catamarans. People with money, keep on innovating. I enjoy watching from the sidelines, if the tickets are cheap enough.

Close crossings could be painful since you don't know just how far that appendage is sticking out, unseen below the waterline. That was the first thought in that video when the boats were close together. It's easy to see something above the waterline and there's a lot of video of how that goes wrong.

Luckily by the time and if it gets into production I wont have to worry about it so I won't even waste time in considering pros and cons.
