Reading the sports over a cup of coffee this morning in the Providence Journal, I stumbled across the follwing article: "17th man" Observer Pulls His Weight for His Country. What's is like to ride 17th man on the crew of an America's Cup boat? What IS the "17th man"? See the story from the Seattle Times (link below). I found it quite interesting.

Most Interesting and Informative

You never really get to see a good newspaper article regarding sailing, but your right, this was good. What an honor he had given to him and I guess he got all they could throw at him. Isn't that usually reserved for the paying guests ($100k and up)? I've been to Newport on the American Eagle, and that's an adventure all it's own. I can just imagine his ride on todays yachts. Thanks for sharing this with us.
