I was shopping at a marine store in the Bay Area last week and noticed something interesting; The "Mercury" outboard on display was identical to my new Nissan outboard down to the smallest screw, nut and bolt. The only difference was the paint job and the price. It seems that Tohatsu makes these outboards....all one in the same. I bought my outboard from the internet and saved $410, plus I didn't have to pay California sales tax! Just more food for thought.......
