Amazing and terrible / sailboat aground

This is getting surreal. I start looking at local news now because of all the incidents, and there's another incident.
This one happier because nobody hurt, but tragic as boat lost, and incredible because the single hand pilot of the 38 foot sailboat, that had traveled 100plus miles from Ventura, was an 83 year old woman.
There's 3 pics in the article. I can't decide what kind of boat that is.

That second picture made me shiver... the jaws of death for a sailboat. I can hear the crunching sound.

She may have been at anchor.
In one pic I think I can see the mainsail cover, and an anchor rode hanging off the bow.
Also that's close to the outside anchorage, and a notorious spot for wash ups.
And, reading into the article it appears it happened at night. -Am making an assumption.

Pretty sure it is a Tartan 37..too bad.. good that no one was hurt.. didn't seem necessary to scrap her..

What a waste, looks like lots of good equipment could have been salvaged before they smashed it all up with those jaws of death.

In the second, "Jaws of Death" photo the mast and rigging have been removed, wonder what happened to them? Surely it was unnecessary to destroy them. I agree with jibes, what a waste! I can see winches, steering pedestal, lifeline, and who knows what in the way of electronics and interior fittings.

From reading the article, it might be that she had time to salvage what she could. The boat was destroyed later on in the day. With that huge shovel, it would have taken no time at all.

From the closeup, the hull is holed along the port side. It probably hit something along the way. Also, that is a single spreader rig. I think a thirty one or longer would be a double spreader? I have a Tartan 31 behind me in my marina, and he has a double spreader rig.
Lots of good gear in those pictures, but if she was insured, she may not care.

I was guessing anchored too. I guess the SOP these days at Doho is to crush the boat as soon as possible. I would have thought (from the pics) that that was a salvageable boat.

The entire coast there is a lee shore. I lost my rudder cable right at the harbor mouth once... Luckily for me I had great crew on board to get the sails in and I knew where the emergency tiller was.
