Tom,
Why do you hate the 115% genoa? Please constact me off list about that.
Judy
I didn't intend to publicly name any names here but someone decided to out that info so...
I have great respect for your knowledge and I eat up everyone of your posts to try and learn.
I would be happy if the sail were a 115, It would certainly clear my shrouds but....it measures as a 126% and hits the shrouds as soon as I turn upwind. I was a green horn about the subject and very apprehensive over the entire purchase and I was hoping the professionals would steer me clear. A true 115 would be great or, a 140 or bigger would also have worked. Then the shrouds would likely be in the pocket I think. The 126% size BITES. I didn't discover this until this last year as I was re-rigging the boat for the new sails.
I left the field on the Mainsail number BLANK indicating I didn't want any sail numbers. Someone made that choice for me without verifying it. I don't care about the wrong numbers much anymore - I have gotten used to it. It was just a detail that was left to chance.
