Sony goes

The SONY Xplod gets one last try with the reset button. If it doesn't work then it goes in the trash. If someone wants a unit that doesn't work, is too complicated when it does work and is obsolete, I would be happy to send it out of my life.

Check out Kenwood

I have installed a marine grade Kenwood. They have an IPOD connection accessory that plugs into the disc changer on the back of the unit. You can lead this to a spot on the dash. No effort, no hassel. Just works. See them at West Marine.

MP3 on DVD

I am not a big fan of personal music devices aka ipods. I would deffinately lose something that small and if you forget it, you have no tunes. Therefore, I will install a car DVD player that can play MP3s on DVD. I can fit all my current music on 5 DVDs and leave them on the boat. If one gets ruined, I burn another. You can get some pretty nice units now that have touchscreens for ease of use and they also have video inputs so I can attach it as a second display to my Garmin 3206. Tim R.

You can pay WM prices or do what

Tim said in the first reply, crutchfield. I just bought a Sony cassette deck and 10 disc changer for less than $200. Plays MP3s too. No reason to waste $ on "marinized" units which suually don't have half the features that regular auto units are made with.
