Upgrade
There was a problem with the original alternator brackets installed by O'Day in the 34 which caused vibration and ultimately cracks in the timing chain cover. You need to take a hard look at this before you break something and flood your bilge with oil. There was a factory upgrade for alternator brackets to solve this problem. You might try to get in touch with Rudy and see if he has it. If not, you might want to think about getting a mechanic to add some additional bracing. Just had another thought. Universal Diesel has a web site and they might have what you need.
