Alternative to gas shock end fitting plastic, Beneteau part number 124059????

I've replaced these several times on the helm seat that lifts to give access to my swim platform. The wind catches the seat and rips the gas strut from the plastic threads. Anyone else had this problem? Anyone have a suggestion on a more durable solution? The

Change it out to a stainless rod end either or just google or go to industrial supply most likely metric m6 or m8 look at LST gas struts and look at end fittings 2nd page can be ordered from industrial supply . I replaced fridge gas struts on my boat with stainless ones
