Also, why not the Vega?

Hello,
I am just as or maybe more interested in why one would NOT choose the Vega. It is nice to know about the boats negative points. If we put them out there, then solutions or upgrades may be found.

'Cause I'm 1.90m tall - that's 6'3" in old money, and now have more
scars on my head than a surgeon's patient list - but like the wife, I
wouldn't change her because I can't find anything that comes close for
the price.

Wow, Sebastian ... it sounds like you need to do some serious new
boat shopping !!

Hi all,

I agree with Sebastien. Having spent 5 weeks sailing my vega in
Scotland I can confirm that my neck ached and i got lots of bumps. I'm
well over 6 foot tall, and with 3 other 6 foot lads on board for one
week, it was pretty crowded! Good thing we don't hold grudges!

But the point is, i spent 2 years shopping for a boat in the UK, and,
for the price, the vega has the best seakeeping, the longest bunks
(try standing up in a virtue! Try buying one for 12k!), and the best
owner association! Ok they're about the worst yachts ever built for
reversing under engine, but thats a small issue once you work out how
to spring off moorings.

I love my Vega, but if i had the money, i'd buy an oyster, a nayad, or
whatever, too... Wouldn't you?

Tom
