Hi all,

We've been slowly making our way south when the window was opened up for us. Tuesday we left Cape Fear and jumped overnight to St. Mary's, Ga. Dropped the hook at 9pm. then out the next morning to St. Augustine where we stopped for fuel and dropped the hook again. We left Friday early and did another overnight to Ft. Pierce inlet at 7am Sat. After 122 hours and over 500 miles we are now on a mooring in Vero Beach, FL and saw the latest space launch from the cockpit last night while having beers.

The seas were 2 feet or less most of the time with winds light out of the north. Most of the time we had to motor sail. The smoke from fires in NC blocked sunrise and sunset cutting the usable daylight quite a bit. We could hear radio traffic from boats on the inside having issues with the ICW trouble spots. A lot easier just picking a spot 100 miles away and have the autopilot keep you on track.

Nice, rain here and forecast has rain. Did I mention it's cold (high 40s to 50) isn't too cold, but feels a lot colder when it's wet. Did I mention wet? Enjoy your winter.

Wettest October here in the past 12 years. already had 1/3 of our annual average rainfall. gotta love it. Lakes were nearly full last season, and we're on track to be overflowing when next summer rolls around.

Hi Ken, Thanksgiving offers a wonderful opportunity to spend some water time on Belle-Vie. Current plan is a rendezvous either on Hope Island or Eagle Harbor with some from our Flotilla, weather permitting. Rain or cold okay, but a blow, not so much.

So far we've spent time with the Cruiseheimers who do the SSB call in, walked the exercise path at the park, signed up for the Thanksgiving pot luck dinner, and had a slide show by two-time circumnavigators on a friends boat. Tonight is burger night at Manatees.

We may be here a while. Water level came up a bit since we came in. The wind will be out of the east for a couple days so it should rise a bit more. Checked the bridge tide board while taking a dingy ride and it was less than 64 at mid tide.

Parked the boat in New Bern for 3 weeks. Finally got under weigh last week. Went from Beaufort NC to Stuart Fl in 4 days, just beat that front by a half day. Passed Canaveral the night before the launch, rocket very well lit up. But passed out and missed the launch!

We're moored next to the Flying Pig and have been talking with Skip several times. We'll probably hang here for a while looking to cross with a nice window. Heard its been snowing and sloppy cold back home, ain't it great?
