Hi Folks - It's been a few years since I have posted here - hopefully a few of you old salts may remember me. I have a Catalina 27 and used to scour this site religiously. I have a problem - I am about to purchase a Beneteau First 32s5. This is a relatively uncommon model, and I am having a hell of a time trying to find an active forum and info site for this model. A search of the Archives revealed only a handful of posts, and of those, each contained only 1 or 2 replies. I am hoping that some of you owners out there may have had one previously, or know someone who currently has one (they are unusal looking outside, and even moreso inside) and can put me in touch with them. The Beneteau Owners forum has not been much help as of yet, and the forum section of Beneteau-Owners.com appears to be down (for quite a long time). Anyway - thanks for your time!!! Rob

I chartered one, once...

...and found it to be a complete pleasure. Only for a week, but it was nice. I saw the same boat in the charter fleet a year later.

Rob: There are 13 owners and their emails listed on BON (BeneteauOwners.net). You might try an email to the group asking if they would be interested in a dialogue. Maybe even set up a Chat here at sailboatowners.com Markdb

ugh

Although we don't own one, my wife and I chartered one from the moorings in '92. The boat handled very well during the "Christmas winds" in the BVIs. What constantly bothered us was the lack of room to move about below decks and in the cockpit; and particularly lack of head space in the head. A week after we returned we boarded a 35s5 at a boat show. It was readily apparent that the 32s5 was a 35s5 crammed into a 32 footer. Wouldn't charter one again let alone buy one. Just "MHO" opinion.
