I guess the count is in and I put my foot in my mouth but the truth is that I do enjoy helping others when I can. Some of you know me but for the new guys, lets say that the water ballast boats was a conception of mine and Hunter built them. I introduced the very first water ballast boat in August of 1992 with the 23.5 which is still my love. As for expereince, I guess I know the boats and will be glad to help you all. AS for my spelling Mr Seamons, tell Laura Dent that englisf wassnot mY bust subjoot. Ha? By the guys, Annie still puts up with me. I am still married and she is a god send to me. She even puts up with me when I return home at 2 am working on boats. By the way, I know the 326 too well as many of those puppies are going by by to anwhere usa. Ok I can keep rambling but better go home as the fumes on reglueing mouse fur in a 26 got to me today Meow Meow Meow Crzxcy Daveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome Back !!!

I have a 93 23.5 and I'm the second owner. So far she has been a great boat with low maintenance required. If you had anything to do with her design your ok by me. Looking forward to your expertise.

Welcome Back!

...Great to have you back, Crazy Dave!!! I only first met you via this website but your input and perceptions were always right on, as well as downright entertaining. You're sort of the Hunterowners equivalant to "Click and Clack" on Sat AM NPR.... Great to have you back at the helm... Bill s/v Renewal

First Question

I am about to install an anchor roller on my 23.5. I found one (an AR-2 I think) that fits in the notch that looks like it was intended for. Of course I will through bolt it, seal it well, and use a backing plate. Anything else I should do or any thoughts you have? Thanks Dave I for one sure have missed you.

answers to your questions

Thanks guys. OK here we go. Fred that is a very nice picture of your boat. Should you ever replace the sunbrella mainsail cover, etc, the color selection is Persian Green. Fred, Probably, you will not need to through bolt the bow roller into the notch. May I suggest that you first drill with a small drill bit to see if you get any residual metal filings below the gel and fiberglass. If so, then all you need to do, is drill and tap as there is a large aluminum plate encapsulated into the glass just for that. I suggest two drill bit sizes smaller and then tap. Use 5200 sealant and wipe away the access with alcohol. That is better than using acetone to clean with., Let me knwo what you find on a seperate post. Crazy Dave Condom Oops I mispelled my last name.

Welcome Back Dave!

Glad to have you back, Dave! I always found your answers, comments, suggestions, warnings, stories, yada yada yada to be most informative and entertaining. (Now if only Ward and Cliff would pipe in a little more, it would be just like old times....). Unfortunately (or fortunately depending upon whom you talk with) I am one of the older boat owners with one of the '87 H23's (without the ".5") so "water ballast" is what I always encourage my family and friends to rid themselves of before we start sailing ;-) but I still hope I can pass a question or two by you once in awhile. Welcome back, Joel

Dave, glad to have run into you.(not your boat). I have a 23.5, 96, and always seem to have a question. I will keep in touch.
