A couple of weeks ago I used Oxyclean and that stuff really works. From what I can find it is pretty harmless. I was able to spray it on and wipe with a soft scrub sponge. It took very little scrubbing mostly just wiping. It took off some stains I couldn't get rid of before. I was able to wipe down the cockpit in just a few minutes. At the time I was a little apprehensive about what was in it so I rinsed the boat well after using it. Found out later that there is no need to rinse.

just use ON & OFF hull cleaner. same thing. its for hulls, but decks are fiberglass too. i use to do a lot of bottom jobs and it works. its muriatic acid too. sometimes on a hot day you spray it on and it starts to react and lets off a cloud of acid vapor. it stings a little, but not that bad! ive cleaned hulls full of barnacles, mussels and algae with the stuff. it still takes some scraping, but it softens it. Not meant as a shot over your bow. Sorry if you thought in might be! I sail in the Great Salt Lake, and it's so salty that the only thing that lives in it is brine shrimp. We use all sorts of crap to clean boats in the marina, and the eco system is not effected by much. I think that in the previous posts the statement that it is different for the area is very true. Everything comes in and nothing goes out where i'm at, but if your in a closed resevior or lake used for cullinary water you might want to be a little more careful. But not all dilution will cure pollution........Proved that in the 80's.
